The latest IPA Media Owner Survey has named InSkin Media as its latest top company, having been rated highest in a survey of digital planners, strategists and buyers in media agencies and digital specialists.

InSkin Media climbed straight to the top of the survey on its debut appearance with 83.8 per cent of the 265 respondents ‘agreeing’ or ‘agreeing strongly’ with the survey statement that ‘My overall experience dealing with this supplier is a good one’.

Another debut company on the survey is Say Media, which was narrowly beaten by InSkin Media, to take second place with 83.1 per cent rating their experience as ‘good’ also.

Previous survey leaders A&NY Media have fallen to third place since last autumn, but saw its score remain above 80 per cent.

Fourth and fifth position was taken by telegraph.co.uk and AOL Advertising respectively, also receiving scores of over 80 per cent. 11 media owners saw their scores above 70 per cent in the same category.

Also debuting on the latest survey for overall service levels/ Grand Prix with scores of over 70 per cent are Twitter, Unruly Media and Collective Media.

Nigel Gwilliam, consultant head of digital for the IPA, commented: “With the help of new entrants InSkin and Say Media, we have seen a total of five suppliers break the 80 per cent approval rating for overall service. We are delighted to see the upward trend in service levels provided to our members and congratulate these businesses for setting the standard.”

Specific Media was found to be the most improved media owner since the previous survey, improving by eight per cent. Also making significant improvements have been channel4.com and Google/YouTube, by five per cent each.

“Every time we see a new set of results there are one or two surprises, especially around new or recent entrants. What this means, is that once you’ve made progress it can be difficult to maintain, and bringing new and forward thinking things to market to keep you interesting to the buying community is needed, but clearly isn’t easy,” commented Pete Robins, group chairman of IPA Digital Media and managing partner at Agenda 21.

Meanwhile, this year’s Media Owner Awards has also opened for entry, offering 16 categories, eight of which will be based on the current survey between spring and autumn as well as year-on-year results.

Another eight awards will be submission based, with an awards ceremony scheduled to take place in November. Entries to the awards should be submitted by 7 June.
